Canterbury Cathedral is the venue for Demelza’s annual carol concert on Thursday December 6th.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and features the Choir of Canterbury Cathedral directed by Dr David Flood, traditional family carols, celebrity readings and poems.
Heart DJ Neil Kefford and Ben Mundy from Radio 1 Newsbeat will be doing readings as well as Demelza Founder President Derek Phillips.
The Demelza Choir will be performing alongside children from Year 2 at Herne C E Infant School and there will be a flute and harp duet.
Alec Martin and his brother Rick, who use Demelza’s hospice in Sittingbourne are also guest readers and their family will be lighting the Christmas candle.
Demelza Chairman Sarah Phillips will be doing the closing address.
Demelza’s Partnerships Events Executive Clare Emmett said: “Christmas is coming and what better way to mark the start of the festive season by joining Demelza for some traditional carols and readings. As well as having a lovely evening in the beautiful surroundings of the cathedral you will be helping us to make Christmas even more special for the families who need us.”
