Demelza is delighted to announce two new Vice Presidents: former Chairman Des Crampton and DJ and presenter Dave Berry.
Des joined Demelza as a Trustee in July 2001 and was appointed Deputy Chairman in March 2002. He chaired the Finance sub-committee and later the Care and Finance sub-committee until his election as Chairman in January 2007.
Des retired from the Board at the AGM in May 2012 and we are delighted that he has accepted the role of Vice President in recognition of the support and services he has provided Demelza over the years.
Capital Radio Breakfast show DJ Dave Berry has worked tirelessly for Demelza for around 8 years.
He compered at Demelza’s first music festival, Music on the Hill in 2011 and last year attended our ball at the Savoy in London. He has also helped most recently with the opening of the new facilities at our Kent hospice and regularly attends events that are held for the children and the families who use Demelza. In recognition of his dedication and support we are delighted that Dave Berry has recently been made a Vice President.
Demelza’s Chief Executive Steve Hoy said: “I am delighted that the trustees have decided to recognise and reward Des and Dave in this way, they have both been tremendous supporters of Demelza over the years and have contributed significantly to our work, I look forward to working with them for many more years to come.”
