Chance for your school choir to perform at Music on the Hill

McFly, Peter Andre, Jools Holland and Stooshe and more are gearing up to perform at Music on the Hill in aid of Demelza Hospice Care for Children, the Children’s Development Trust and Teens Unite Fighting Cancer.

But alongside the stars the organisers of Music on the Hill are looking for a final act from the local community to perform on stage at the festival in Kings Hill this summer.

We are running a competition to give a school band or choir the chance to play at Music on the Hill on Sunday July 21st for the Family Summer Sunday.

The winning group will perform on the same day (and stage) as Stooshe, Gareth Gates, Joe McElderry, Charlie Brown and many more.

Hollie's Fundraiser is Picture Perfect

A ten year old girl who loves drawing is taking commissions for pictures to raise money for children who aren’t as lucky as her.

Hollie Simmonds from Newington wants to raise £250 for Demelza from her artwork.

Hollie said: “I really love drawing and my family told me that I was very good at it so I started doing pictures for them and collecting donations in return, in a jar at home.  I have made over £30 and had lots of requests so thought I would aim higher.

“If you tell me what you would like me to draw, I will do it as soon as I can and give it or send it to you.  If you like it you can then donate as little or as much as you like on my page and help me raise money for children who aren't as lucky as me.”

The Newington Primary School pupil has done pictures of animals, cartoon characters and a pirate but she prefers fictional characters rather than copying real things: “It took me five attempts to do the labradoodle” she said.
