The Bereavement Support Team provides a wide range of support and services:
Emotional Support • Pre and post bereavement support: one-to-one, couples and group work with children, their families and any significant others. • End of Life Care planning including funeral plans and wills • Befriending / Listening Support • Counselling Support • Sibling & Peer support: one-to-one, group or support with School • Adult Support groups - Mums, Dads and Grandparents
Practical support - (inclusive of funeral planning) • Participation in internal and external meetings and reviews • Support to access advocacy support • Remembrance events, i.e. Bereaved Families weekend, Snowdrop event and Annual Candlelight Service. • Community resources - open to the general public or local professionals who may want help/advice or signposting on to other professionals
Demelza Hospice Care for Children is an organizational member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the Ethical Framework for all counselling skills based activities. All work undertaken is located with relevant clinical and organizational policy frameworks to ensure safeguarding.
