What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your donation giving Demelza Hospice Care for Children an extra 25p for every £1.00 you give at no extra cost to you. For example on a donation of £10.00 the Inland Revenue will add £2.50 increasing the total donation to £12.50.
Am I Eligible to Gift Aid my Donation?
You can qualify for Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer and have paid an amount of UK income or capital gains tax equal to the tax that we claim on your donation.
How to give Gift Aid?
To give Gift Aid you can either complete our online form or by printing and completing our Gift Aid form.
What if I pay the higher rate of tax?
Demelza Hospice Care for Children can only claim the basic rate so please still complete and return the declaration. Higher rate tax earners can declare their donations on their tax return and claim a rebate on the difference between the basic tax rate and the higher tax rate. The tax return allows you to nominate a charity to receive any rebate and the Inland Revenue will pass on your rebate directly to the charity. If you wish to support us in this way please put the code for Demelza Hospice Care for Children which is QAM 62DG.
What if my circumstances change?
Please let Demelza Hospice Care for Children of any changes to your circumstances or change of address. Providing you are still eligible for Gift Aid you will not have to complete a new form. Our contact details for Gift Aid can be found at the bottom of this page.
What if I stop paying tax?
You can cancel your declaration at any time. All you need to do is contact us by telephone, email or in writing with your full name and address.
What we do with your information?
If requested to do so, we will only pass your information onto the Inland Revenue. Demelza Hospice Care for Children will not share your information with anyone else.
